“When you find you’re why, you find a way to make it happen.”

– Eric Thomas

I’m a big believer in finding your why and making sure you’re driven by a sense of purpose in everything you do.

This is especially important when it comes to leadership. Keeping your team members as healthy, happy, and productive as possible, especially in these trying times, means focusing on the human aspects of leadership – empathy, embracing difficult emotions, and showing you value your employees. Never before has employee well-being been given as much attention as it is today and rightly so. This has required leaders to shift their style and focus on the well-being of employees.

So here’s a question for you, have you made the shift? I’d love to hear what you’re doing to increase attention on employee well-being so click here and let me know.

Here’s a great article from Forbes.com. 14 expert coaches (myself included) were asked to offer their advice for leaders on making this shift in leadership style.

My tip (#9) – Go Back To Your Sense Of Purpose
Go back to your sense of purpose, your “why.”
Why did you start the business or become a leader in the first place? There’s usually a deeper meaning to being a leader.
What does your business mean to you, beyond performance and profit?

Asking these questions will help you get connected to the things you want to create within your business beyond profit. To have the impact you desire, you need to be able to inspire. Then your people will come along with you.
