I love this quote from Simon Sinek:
“The goal is not to do business with everybody who needs what you have. The goal is to do business with people who believe what you believe.”

I base my business on this philosophy too and I haven’t been disappointed.
It may sound idealistic but that’s what it means to be purpose-driven.

The key here is to know what you believe!

This philosophy requires that we get really clear on what it is that we believe, what we stand for and why we’re here.
It requires that we speak our message boldly into the world so that we draw in the people we want to work with. It requires that we say “no” to business opportunities that don’t fit and that’s a really tough thing to do.

It doesn’t mean that we must only hang out with people who are like us. After all diversity is great. At the same time, when we spend a lot of time working with people, we want to have shared values and an ability to discuss our differences with respect and acceptance.

Here’s what I believe:

• When I focus on doing what I love, the money flows
• Getting clear about our purpose and making sure our works aligns with it, makes working way more fun
• When I feel I’m working hard and my sense of joy lessens, I need to go back to my centre and refocus on my purpose.

What do you believe? Let me know, I’d love to know.
